Measuring and managing progress in an eCommerce project

How do we monitor progress and the delivery date of an eCommerce project?

Every project should have a defined end point. The User Scenario and Acceptance Test is an ideal candidate for measuring how much work remains to be done. We can do this by measuring the production rate on completed US&ATs and applying the result to the effort estimates of the remaining US&ATs to give us an estimate of how much time is still need to deliver the project.

The US&AT is in effect the projects inventory. If you use a requirements management tool such as JIRA each story can have an estimate for the effort needed as well as an estimate for the remaining effort on any Scenarios or Stories that have been started.
